Exercise 4 – Slow Reading 2

  1. Listen to the Bible passage as it is read to you, just allowing the words to wash over you. Be aware of key words that impact you.
  2. Write these down.
  3. While the passage is read to you again see if those are confirmed.
  4. Reflect on those words that have impacted you in the context of your life experience and the Bible passage.
  5. After the passage is read a third time sit with the passage and see what God is saying to you through it and the reflection on your own life experience from point.
  6. Respond silently to God about what he has said to you.
  7. Sit quietly to allow God’s presence to surround you.
  8. You may like to write down your thoughts, like you would when journalling.
